Test Drive Agreements

You must have Test Drive Service turned on at your location (within the Agreement Types management setting) to use this feature.

If your location offers a Test Drive service to its customers, where potential customers temporarily take possession of a new vehicle to determine if they want to buy it, TSD DEALER lets you track the availability and usage of a unit in your fleet that is being used on these types of agreements.

Note: Test Drive appointments and agreements on the web and mobile app are similar to rentals and loaners, except a customer automobile is always required.

Setup Requirements

  1. Offering Test Drive bookings on your website with the TSD Web Scheduler? There are a number of setup requirements and options for test drive bookings. See "TSD's Web Scheduler Integration" for more information.
  2. Turn on the Test Drive service within your Agreement Types. In the Rates Hub, find and edit the Agreement Types management setting and turn on the Test Drive Service option. If you plan to charge rates on these agreements, select the Enable Rates Charges option.
  3. Set up Test Drive rates. Set up retail rates for Test Drive agreements using the Test Drive Rate Setup setting. See "Rates, Charges, Fees & Taxes Setup" for more information.

How To ...

Note: Using the mobile app? Test Drive appointments are included on the 'Home' screen Dashboard's "Today's Appointments" metric, or you can open a Test Drive agreement from scratch using your normal mobile process. See "Opening Agreements on the Mobile App" for more information.

  1. Search for a customer or Test Drive appointment and click NEW AGREEMENT, or create a walkup agreement by clicking () in the bottom-right corner of the Home page and selecting New Agreement, then select Test Drive as the type of agreement.
  2. Proceed with opening the agreement, which is similar to opening a loaner or rental agreement, except a customer automobile is always required. See "Open an agreement" for more information.

You can quickly locate certain types of agreements using the Agreement Type filter on the Agreement Operations dashboard.

Test Drive appointments and agreements show up in your regular Search Open, Appointment Hub, and Agreement Hub searches, as well as your mobile app metrics on the 'Home' screen. See "Search for an appointment" and "Search for an agreement" for more information.

  • Additionally, on the Agreement Hub, you can narrow results by selecting the Test Drive check box under the Agreement Type search filters on the left panel. Like other types of agreements, these records are marked with a Test Drive tag, so they can be identified easily in search results.

    • View and edit a Test Drive agreement using the same process as when viewing and editing any other type of agreement. See "View and edit an agreement" for more information.

    Close a Test Drive agreement using the same process as when closing other type of agreement. See "Close an agreement" for more information.

    A PRINT button is available in search results for closed agreements. This opens the signed agreement PDF in a separate browser tab for you to print.
